- Brush steaks with oil; rub with freshly ground pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.
- Meanwhile, for the sauce, in a medium saucepan combine root beer, ketchup, orange juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire, sugar, molasses, garlic, ginger, onion powder, pepper and hot sauce; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 10 to 15 minutes or until thick.
- Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium-high (350°F to 400°F). Brush steaks with sauce, and place on grill. Grill 4 to 5 minutes per side (145°F for medium-rare) or to desired doneness, brushing with sauce to taste throughout grilling. Remove from grill; let stand 5 minutes before serving.
